In 2000, it became the first train in the South Central Railway zone to introduce an air-conditioned first-class coach. It covers the 710 km journey in about 12 hours. 2. **Coromandel Express:** Established in 1976, this premium train service was initially designed to rival the Rajadhani Express, offering amenities like an in-house pantry, library, and cinema. It runs between Chennai Central and Kolkata Shalimar, offering stunning views of the Coromandel coast along its 1,659 km route, which it covers in about 26 hours. 3. **Andhra Pradesh Express:** While the current train is only 8 years old, the name “Andhra Pradesh Express” has a 47-year legacy. The first AP Express connected New Delhi and Hyderabad, but since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2015, a new Andhra Pradesh Express started running from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi. The old one was renamed to Telangana Express. This train is one of the few that travels the Visakhapatnam-New Delhi route and is the fastest among them. 4. **East Coast Express:** This daily service linking Hyderabad Deccan to Shalimar (Kolkata) has been in operation since 1975. Named after its route along India’s eastern coast, the train covers 1,592 km in approximately 30 hours.
