derailment damaged the tracks on platforms 2 and 3, leading to the suspension of services on both tracks. The overhead wires and pillars were also damaged, which could delay repairs. The train began to derail at point 117 near the Gujarat side of the platform. It is believed that the derailment could have caused significant casualties if the wagons and the iron coils they were carrying had fallen onto platform 2, where passengers were waiting for local trains headed towards Mumbai. The incident disrupted train services on platform 2 due to track damage and on platform 3 due to the derailed wagons and iron coils. Services on both platforms were suspended. The resumption of Mumbai-bound train services was expected to take over 24 hours. A team of officials and staff from Bandra arrived at the site with a Self-Propelled Auxiliary Tool Van about an hour and a half after the incident. Due to the lack of alternative arrangements, passengers had to rely on whatever transport they could find, even though an hour and a half had passed since the incident. All local trains heading towards Dahanu were halted indefinitely. The ST department arranged for buses to Nalasopara, Kelwe, and Boisar. The police superintendent of Palghar, Balasaherb Patil, and the inspector, Anant Parad, visited the site. All train services in the direction of Mumbai and Gujarat were completely halted for two hours before announcements were made. Passengers were advised to use ST buses or private vehicles as there were no arrangements for travel in the direction of Virar. Two hours later, arrangements were made for passengers travelling towards Gujarat, with the Virar-Surat shuttle leaving from platform 1 at 6:45 pm and the Ghazipur-Bandra express stopping at Dahanu from Virar station at 7:15 pm. The August Kranti Rajdhani Express and the Jaipur Express departed from platform 1 of Palghar station at 6:30 pm towards Gujarat.

Accident ke ek ghanta aur aadha ghanta baad Bandra se Self-Propelled Auxiliary Tool Van ke saath officials aur staff ki team ghatna sthali pahunchi. Ghatna ke ek ghanta aur aadha ghanta baad bhi alternative arrangements na hone ki wajah se passengers ko koi bhi available transport use karna pada. Dahanu jaane wali saari local trains indefinitely band kar di gayi. ST department ne Nalasopara, Kelwe aur Boisar jaane wali buses ka bandobast kiya. Palghar ke police superintendent, Balasaherb Patil aur inspector, Anant Parad ne ghatna sthali ka dour kiya. Mumbai aur Gujarat ki disha mein jaane wali saari train services 2 hours tak band rahi aur uske baad announcement ki gayi. Passengers ko ST buses ya private vehicles use karne ki salah di gayi, kyunki Virar ki disha mein koi bhi arrangement nahi tha. Do hours baad, Gujarat jaane wale passengers ke liye bandobast kiya gaya, Virar-Surat shuttle sham 6:45 baje platform 1 se chala aur Ghazipur-Bandra express sham 7:15 baje Virar station se Dahanu tak ruka. August Kranti Rajdhani Express aur Jaipur Express sham 6:30 baje Palghar station ke platform 1 se Gujarat ki disha mein chali.
