Railways urged to speed up trains on Bengaluru-Mysuru section

Rail users and activists are urging the Indian Railways to speed up trains on the Bengaluru-Mysuru section, citing the underutilization of the benefits of a recently electrified double line. They point out that many express trains still take over three hours to travel between the cities. The Mysuru Grahakara Parishat...

(MGP) has submitted a memorandum to the Mysuru MP, advocating for faster trains, the operationalization of the remodelled Ashokapuram railway station, and the doubling of the stretch between Mysuru Junction and Ashokapuram. They also emphasized the need to expedite the realignment of a short track near the Mysuru airport, as electrification is pending due to concerns about electromagnetic interference with flight navigation. The MGP also proposes infrastructure improvements at Jnanabharathi Hall Station near Bengaluru, facilitating metro connections. Other requests include the reintroduction of the Nandi Express, development of a crossing line at Kavalande, a terminal at Naganahalli, a Chamarajangar-Bidar tri-weekly express, a direct connection from Mysuru to Rajkot, and a Mysuru-Bengaluru-Pune-Mumbai train service.

Rail users aur activists Indian Railways se Bengaluru-Mysuru section pe trains ki speed badhane ka demand kar rahe hain, kyuki unka kehna hai ki hal hi mein electrified double line ke benefits ka fayda nahi uthaya ja raha hai. Woh yeh bhi batate hain ki bahut saare express trains abhi bhi...

do shehron ke beech mein safar karne mein teen ghante ya usse zyada time lete hain.
