Work on seven minor bridges, one big bridge, and track installation along the Cooum river is underway. Some Chennai suburban trains cancelled

Southern Railway has announced the cancellation and partial cancellation of some suburban trains between May 19th and 20th due to engineering work at Chennai Park railway station. The Chennai Beach - Tambaram EMU local train departing Chennai Beach at 9:30 PM on May 18th has been completely cancelled.

Additional demands include having trains from Nellore to Chennai stop at Minjur, Ennore, Wimco Nagar, and Korukkupet, and requiring all express trains from northern states to Chennai to stop at Wimco Nagar for one minute. To address overcrowding, they propose converting nine-coach trains to twelve coaches with additional women's reserved coaches. They also request improved station facilities, including toilets in good condition, CCTV cameras, lifts or escalators, and power supply. They are specifically requesting the prioritization of Minjur, Ponneri, and Gummidipoondi stations for these upgrades. Extension withdrawn for Chennai Beach - Vellore Cantonment MEMU passenger train till Tiruvannamalai

Chennai Beach aur Tiruvannamalai ke beech original route par hi chalega. Iske alawa, Train No. 22624 Madurai - Chennai Egmore Superfast Express ka schedule bhi badal diya gaya hai, kyunki uske pairing rake late aa rahe hai. Train ko originally Thursday ko 20.50 hrs par Madurai se chalaana tha, lekin ab isko Friday ko 02.00 hrs par chalaane ka schedule kiya gaya hai.
