Indian Railways have to create a new wing of marketing where MBAs should be specifically recruited rather than plain graduates through age-old method through UPSC. This is essential to achieve success in the arena where IR is consistently faring very badly like
(1) Commercial utilisation of space at Railway stations which invariably are the prime locations of the respective cities. Hotels, Malls, commercial use at these locations can earn revenues in tens of thousands of crores

(3) Involvement of private and other govt. organisations in PPP projects to bring in much-needed investment and hence capacity augmentation/ modernisation of existing rail facilities.
