first phase will involve planting saplings in the Dabbaspet 4th stage industrial area, Bengaluru Rural district, and surrounding government land. The second phase will involve planting saplings in the Dodda Ballapur 3rd stage KIADB 2nd, 12th, and 13th parks and buffer zone, as well as surrounding government land. A total of 3,626 trees were cut down for Namma Metro projects between 2021 and 2023. Between 2021 and 2022, 856 trees were relocated to different parts of the city and outskirts. 2,461 trees were felled for the phase 2 and phase 2'A' projects. Between 2022 and January 2023, 107 trees were relocated and 1,165 were felled for phase 2'A' and 2'B'. Officials have stated that 1,193 trees have been successfully relocated. Bids were called for the tree-planting project, and the evaluation process is underway. BMRCL has stated that the saplings will be planted during the monsoon season. In preparation for 16 interchange stations, the BMRCL plans to trim 750 branches from trees along the metro routes. This measure is being taken as a precautionary step to prevent branches from falling on the metro tracks and causing damage, and to avoid signaling issues.
