train, being the only daily train connecting Katihar and Amritsar, is already operating at over 150% of its capacity. Extending it to Jogbani would further burden the train. Anwar highlighted the lack of new daily trains on this route despite population growth. He suggested the introduction of a new daily train from Katihar to Amritsar or Jammu, passing through Purnea, Araria, Lalitgram, Darbhanga, Narkatiaganj, and Gorakhpur. This would ease the pressure on the Amrapali Express and provide a much-needed alternative for travellers. He also expressed concern over the underutilization of Katihar's four pit lines and the largest railway coaching depot in North Bihar due to a limited number of originating trains. This facility is operating at only 50-60% capacity. Anwar also urged the GM to reconsider the proposal to extend train numbers 15713 and 15714, the Katihar-Patna Intercity, to Jogbani. He suggested introducing a new superfast Rajya Rani or Intercity service from Jogbani if enhanced connectivity is needed. The Katihar-Patna Intercity is already running at full capacity, and extending it could lead to operational issues. Anwar expressed hope that the GM will seriously consider these suggestions and concerns to improve rail services in the region.

paas pending hai. Yeh train, Katihar aur Amritsar ko connect karne wali akeli daily train hai, aur already apni capacity se 150% se zyada chal rahi hai. Isse Jogbani tak extend karne se train par aur pressure badhega. Anwar ne yeh bataya ki is route par population badhne ke bawajood, koi bhi new daily train start nahi ki gayi hai. Unhone suggest kiya ki Katihar se Amritsar ya Jammu tak ek new daily train start ki jaaye, jo ki Purnea, Araria, Lalitgram, Darbhanga, Narkatiaganj, aur Gorakhpur se hoke chale. Isse Amrapali Express par passengers ka pressure kam hoga aur travellers ke liye ek new aur zaruri option available hoga. Unhone yeh bhi bataya ki Katihar mein chaar pit lines aur North Bihar ka sabse bada railway coaching depot hone ke bawajood, limited number of originating trains ke karan iska pura utilization nahi ho raha hai aur yeh sirf 50-60% capacity par kaam kar raha hai. hai. Aadesh mein kaha gaya hai ki Madhy Railway ka crew NF Railway ke New Jalpaiguri tak ka kaam karega. Isse Katihar base ke running staff ka BOS kam hoga aur unka astitva khatre mein rahega. Rupesh Kumar ne prabandhan ke samne Katihar Mandal mein avasthit jarjar aavas ki sthiti evam sabhi rail phatkon mein bijli evam shudh peyajal ki vyavastha karwane ki bhi maang rakhi. Saath-saath Kumarganj se Malda tak ke phatkon mein shudh peyajal evam railway aavas ki jaldi se jaldi marammat karwane ki maang bhi rakhi. Mandal Rail Prabhandak ne uparokt sabhi samasyaon ko gambhirata purvak lete hue uspar sakaratmak pehal karne ka aashwasan diya hai. Vartaman mein jaari Purv Madhy Rail ke tuglaki farmaan ko tatkal prabhav se rok diya gaya hai. A major accident was narrowly averted near Kumedpur in the Katihar railway division when several wagons of a goods train carrying oil derailed. There were reports of leakage from some of the oil tankers.

Katihar railway division ke Kumedpur ke paas ek bada haadsa hone se bal-bal bach gaya jab oil se bhare ek maalgaadi ke kai wagon derail ho gaye. Kuch oil tankers se leak hone ki bhi khabar hai.

NFR's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Sabysachi Dey stated that sufficient funds have been allocated for infrastructure and safety related work. Electrification projects for the NFR, including Katihar, have received ₹694.69 crore. NFR has allocated ₹8378.53 crore for new lines and doubling projects, with an emphasis on safety and operations. Track renewal and bridge works have received ₹1305.07 crore, while signaling and telecom have been allocated ₹170 crore. Passenger amenities at stations will be improved with ₹537 crore. Across the northeast, 18 ongoing railway projects with a total length of 1,368 kilometers and a total investment of ₹74,972 crore are underway. 60 stations on the NFR will be redeveloped under the 'Amrit Bharat Station' scheme, including 50 in Assam, 4 in Tripura, and one each in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Sikkim. NFR has constructed a record 470 Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges since 2014 to enhance safety for road and rail users. The Katihar division will see the construction of a four-lane railway track between Katihar-Mukurya and Katihar-Kumedpur. The doubling work is expected to be completed by the end of this financial year. The Katihar division will also see the development of 18 railway stations under the 'Amrit Bharat' scheme. The NFR is also implementing an advanced version of the Kavach-4 safety system, which uses a combination of hardware, software, optical fiber, telecom towers, on-track systems, stations, and data center management. This year, the Indian Railways plans to manufacture 10,000 general coaches in addition to the 2,500 already planned.
